Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about ZapFolder

What is ZapFolder?

ZapFolder is a visual review space for creative work. Teams upload the original asset, share it by secure invite or public link, and reviewers annotate the change they want directly on it. With one click a reviewer turns their annotation into an AI visual suggestion that previews the result of their feedback, and every revision is kept as a version of the same asset so teams can compare changes and approve the right one.

How does the AI suggestion work?

The reviewer annotates the asset first to mark the change they want. With one click, ZapFolder turns that annotation into an AI visual suggestion — image generation that applies the change to the original asset — so the reviewer can preview the result of their own feedback. It does not critique your design or tell you how to improve it; it shows what the reviewer is asking for. The suggestion can then be promoted into a new version, or used as a clear direction for the designer.

Does ZapFolder replace my designer or my design tools?

No. Design still happens in Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Canva, Framer, or your existing workflow. ZapFolder is where the work gets shared, annotated, previewed with AI, versioned, compared, and approved. AI suggestions give the designer a clearer visual target — the designer (or project owner) decides what becomes the next version.

How do people access a review?

Three ways, depending on the workflow: invite named reviewers by email when you need identity, permissions, approval tracking, and controlled resharing; create a public link when you want low-friction access and speed matters more than control; or use the internal workspace for designers, project owners, and team members managing the work.

Do reviewers need an account?

Public-link reviewers can open the review and leave feedback without an account. Email-invited reviewers get named access, which adds identity, permissions, approval requirements, and subscriptions.

How are revisions and versions handled?

New revisions are added as versions of the same asset — not as disconnected new uploads. A version timeline stays visible above the asset, so everyone can see the history of the work, including previous versions and AI suggestions.

Can I compare versions and AI suggestions?

Yes. You can compare versions and AI suggestions against each other, including overlay comparison, so it is clear exactly what changed between revisions.

What is the difference between an AI suggestion and a version?

An AI suggestion is a visual interpretation of a reviewer’s feedback. Sometimes it is just a direction the designer uses to build the next version; sometimes it is already good enough, in which case the project owner can promote it directly into a new version.

Can I control who can view, comment, approve, or reshare?

Yes, with email-invite access you get permissions, required approvers, subscriptions to updates, and resharing controls so external reviewers can bring in the right people without losing control of who can view, comment, or approve.

Will I be notified when something changes?

Project owners and subscribed reviewers get notifications when there is new feedback, a new AI suggestion, a new version, or a change in approval status.

What kind of work can I share for review?

Mockups, design files, marketing assets, packaging, web visuals, PDFs, and other creative work that needs feedback or approval.

Who is ZapFolder for?

Teams that share visual work and the people who approve it: designers and creative teams; account directors, project managers, and project owners managing the review loop; and clients, marketing leads, and approvers who review and sign off on the work.
